How to Read This Calendar

Last updated: September 19, 2026.

The next three confirmed dates fall within a fortnight: the US Postal Service's Linda McCartney Forever stamps on 25 September 2026, the Beatles' Rubber Soul Special Edition on 2 October 2026, and the paperback of Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run on 6 October 2026. Further out, Apple Corps has announced The Beatles at 3 Savile Row for 2027, the animated film High in the Clouds is set for 2027, and Sony has dated Sam Mendes' four Beatles films for April 2028.

Every item carries one of three labels. Confirmed means the rights holder (artist, label, publisher, studio, museum or official body) has announced both the product and the date, usually with pre-orders open. Announced means the project is official but the date is either not set or differs between countries. Rumored means the information comes from interviews, fan databases or unofficial reports, with nothing from the rights holders. Each entry names its source.

We are an unofficial fan site with no connection to Paul McCartney, MPL or Apple Corps, and we have no inside information. Everything here comes from public announcements and named reporting.

Coming Up: September to December 2026

Confirmed, 25 September 2026: Linda McCartney Forever stamps (United States Postal Service). A pane of 20 stamps in five designs, each reproducing one of Linda's nature or still-life photographs, with a black and white self-portrait of her behind the camera on the selvage. The art director is Derry Noyes. The first-day-of-issue ceremony is at 11am Eastern at the Museum of Modern Art, 11 West 53rd Street, New York, and the stamps go on sale the same day at Post Offices and usps.com. Source: USPS newsroom, 24 August 2026. The family's campaigning side of her story is covered in our piece on Meat Free Monday and the McCartney vegetarian legacy.

Confirmed, 2 October 2026: The Beatles, Rubber Soul Special Edition (Apple Corps, via UMR/Calderstone). The album gets a new stereo mix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell. Formats: 1CD, 2CD, 1LP and 2LP editions; a 4CD super deluxe and a 5LP plus 7-inch super deluxe, both in 12 by 12 inch slipcases with an 88-page hardbound book carrying a new introduction by Paul; a Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos and high-resolution stereo plus the promo films for "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out"; and two limited vinyl variants, an orange pressing and a zoetrope picture disc. The super deluxe sets add the original mono mix, the Capitol US version of the album, 26 outtakes and rarities, and home demos including a previously unknown John Lennon song outline, "Little Girl". Confirmed, 6 October 2026: Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run, paperback. The oral history edited by Ted Widmer is published by Liveright in the US and Canada (608 pages, $22.95 in the US, CAD $31.95, ISBN 978-1-324-09991-8), with a simultaneous UK paperback from Allen Lane. The new edition adds a conversation between Paul and Morgan Neville, recorded around the release of Man on the Run. Source: paulmccartney.com, August 2026.

Confirmed, running until 3 January 2027: Paul McCartney, Photographer, 1963 to 64: Eyes of the Storm, Musée Granet, Aix-en-Provence, France. More than 250 of Paul's own photographs from the first year of Beatlemania, shown in France for the first time as part of the Grand Arles Express programme. It opened on 4 July 2026. Opening hours change on 3 November, from 10am to 6pm to noon to 6pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Source: Musée Granet.

For big Beatles reissues, pre-order the exact format you want early. The limited orange vinyl and the zoetrope picture disc are the editions most likely to sell out and reappear on resale sites at a markup.

2027 and Beyond

Announced, 2027 (no exact date): The Beatles at 3 Savile Row, London. In May 2026 Apple Corps announced the first official Beatles fan experience, in the Grade II listed building that was Apple's headquarters from 1968 to 1972 and the site of the rooftop concert on 30 January 1969. Plans include seven floors of archive material, rotating exhibitions, a shop, a recreation of the basement studio used for the Get Back sessions, and access to the roof. Paul told the BBC the idea came from Tom Greene, Apple's new chief executive. No opening date or ticket prices had been published as of September 19, 2026. Sources: thebeatles.com, Rolling Stone, May 2026.

Announced, 2027: High in the Clouds, animated film from Gaumont. It is based on the 2005 children's book Paul wrote with Philip Ardagh and illustrator Geoff Dunbar, directed by Toby Genkel, with original songs by Paul and a score by Michael Giacchino. Paul voices a walrus bass player, and the cast includes Himesh Patel, Celine Dion, Hannah Waddingham, Idris Elba, Lionel Richie, Ringo Starr and Jimmy Fallon. French release listings disagree (both 7 July and 13 October 2027 have been reported), and US and UK dates have not been announced, so we treat 2027 as the only firm point.

Confirmed, April 2028: The Beatles, A Four-Film Cinematic Event, directed by Sam Mendes for Sony Pictures. Mendes announced at CinemaCon in March 2025 that all four films, one from the point of view of each Beatle, will open in April 2028, and the US date is listed as 7 April 2028. Paul Mescal plays Paul, Harris Dickinson plays John, Joseph Quinn plays George and Barry Keoghan plays Ringo. Our Sam Mendes Beatles films guide tracks the cast and production news.

Rumored Releases

Rumored: a Back to the Egg deluxe edition. The Paul McCartney Project, a long-running fan database, lists a Back to the Egg box set under 2027 and attributes the information to Steve Holley, who drummed on that 1979 album. We could not find the original comment, and neither MPL nor Capitol has announced anything.

Rumored: a London Town reissue. London Town (1978) and Back to the Egg are the last two Wings studio albums not yet given the Paul McCartney Archive Collection treatment, which is why fans expect them. There is no announcement and no date for either.

Rumored: an anniversary release for Wings at the Speed of Sound. The album came out in March 1976, so 2026 is its 50th year, and Band on the Run and Venus and Mars both received 50th anniversary half-speed vinyl editions. Fans have predicted the same treatment, but as of September 19, 2026 we have found no official announcement from MPL or Capitol.

We leave out claims that cannot be traced to any identifiable source, including social media posts announcing box sets with invented track lists and mocked-up cover art. If you see something that is not on this page, check the news pages at paulmccartney.com and thebeatles.com before sharing it.

Already Out: Late 2025 and 2026

For reference, these releases are already in the shops, all confirmed by official announcements at the time.

7 November 2025: WINGS, a 32-track career compilation on 3LP and 2CD (a shorter 12-track edition also exists), including "Soily" from the One Hand Clapping sessions. 21 November 2025: The Beatles Anthology Collection, issued the same month as the restored Anthology documentary series.

27 February 2026: Man on the Run, Morgan Neville's documentary about Paul's Wings years, began streaming on Prime Video, and a soundtrack album of McCartney and Wings recordings came out the same day. See our Man on the Run soundtrack review.

26 March 2026: "Days We Left Behind", the lead single from The Boys of Dungeon Lane, released on the day the album was announced. 8 May 2026: "Home to Us", the second single, Paul's first duet with Ringo Starr, with backing vocals from Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri of Texas.

29 May 2026: The Boys of Dungeon Lane (Capitol), Paul's first album of new songs since McCartney III in 2020, produced with Andrew Watt. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number one and the US Billboard 200 at number five.

How We Keep This Calendar Accurate

Release dates move. Pressing plant capacity, rights clearances and marketing plans can push a date back by weeks or months, and countries sometimes get different dates, as the High in the Clouds listings show. When a date changes we update the entry and say what changed.

Our order of sources is fixed: official announcements first (paulmccartney.com, thebeatles.com, label, publisher and museum press releases), then reporting that quotes named people. Fan databases such as The Paul McCartney Project are valuable for tracking, and we cite them when we rely on them. Anonymous claims go in the Rumored section, and claims with no traceable source are left out.

If you only want what is certain, read the entries marked Confirmed and skip the rest. The rumors are kept in their own section so you never have to guess which is which.
