How our reviews work

Every review on Fab Four Fans answers the question our members ask most often: is this release worth the money, and which format should I buy? We compare the official track lists, the mixes and masters, the packaging and the extras across every format, from the single CD to the super deluxe box, and we say plainly when a cheaper edition does the job.

We cover new releases like the Rubber Soul Special Edition and The Boys of Dungeon Lane, archive sets like Band on the Run 50th Anniversary, books such as The Lyrics, and gear like the Hofner violin bass. Each review lists what is in the box, how it sounds, who it is for and what to skip.

We are fans, not an official source, and we are not paid by labels. Some links earn a small Amazon commission, which never changes a verdict. If you are building a collection from scratch, start with our guide to the best McCartney vinyl pressings.
