Paul McCartney Tour Tracker: Confirmed Dates and Rumors
Where Things Stand Today
Last updated: September 19, 2026.
Paul McCartney has no confirmed upcoming concert dates as of September 19, 2026. The live page at paulmccartney.com lists no upcoming gigs, and no venue has announced a McCartney show. His only full concerts of 2026 so far were two club shows, Paul McCartney Rocks the Fonda, at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on 27 and 28 March.
Plenty of websites say otherwise. Ticket resale sites, auto-generated "tour 2026" pages and social media posts list McCartney dates that have never been announced. If a date is not on the official live page or on a venue's own box office site, we treat it as unconfirmed, however professional the page looks.
This tracker uses three labels. Confirmed means the date appeared on paulmccartney.com or came from McCartney's official channels, with tickets on sale. Announced means someone speaking for Paul has stated a plan on the record without giving dates. Rumored means the information comes from unnamed sources, fan speculation or unverified reports. Each item names its source.
Confirmed: McCartney Live in 2026 So Far
Confirmed: 27 and 28 March 2026, Paul McCartney Rocks the Fonda, Fonda Theatre, Hollywood, Los Angeles. His first shows since the Got Back 2025 finale in Chicago. Tickets were not sold to the public in the usual way: fans registered in advance, and selected registrants were emailed a one-time purchase link between 24 and 25 March. The shows were phone-free, with phones locked in Yondr pouches. Sources: paulmccartney.com, AEG press release.
Confirmed (television): 16 May 2026, the Saturday Night Live season 51 finale on NBC, hosted by Will Ferrell. Paul played "Days We Left Behind" from The Boys of Dungeon Lane, "Band on the Run" and "Coming Up", with Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on drums, and appeared in a sketch as a car mechanic alongside Ferrell and Marcello Hernández. After the goodnights he played "Help!" and "Drive My Car" for the studio audience, with Ferrell adding cowbell. Sources: NBC, Billboard, May 2026.
Confirmed (event, not a concert): 10 June 2026, In Conversation with Paul McCartney, Roundhouse, London. A listening event for The Boys of Dungeon Lane in front of about 1,300 people: each track was played in full, then Rob Brydon questioned Paul about it. Sources: Record Collector, DIY, June 2026.
Reported (private event): early July 2026, the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Rolling Stone and Stereogum reported that Paul performed "I Want to Hold Your Hand", which setlist.fm shows he had not played live since the Beatles' concert at the Paramount Theatre in New York on 20 September 1964. It was a private event, so there is no official setlist and we do not count it as a concert.
Announced: Plans Stated on the Record
Announced (no dates): a tour later in 2026 including Japan. In February 2026, during a question and answer session after a screening of Man on the Run in New Orleans, Paul's manager Scott Rodger said Paul planned to tour later in the year and would visit Japan. He also said the new album was finished and only waiting on artwork, which turned out to be accurate: The Boys of Dungeon Lane was announced in March and released on 29 May. Japanese shows would be Paul's first there since the Freshen Up tour played Tokyo and Nagoya in late 2018. Sources: ClutchPoints and Yahoo Entertainment, February 2026.
As of September 19, 2026, no dates for this plan have been published. His recent tours have run from late September to December, so a late 2026 run is not ruled out, but even the 2025 North American leg was announced months ahead, and large arena and dome shows need long lead times. The later the year gets without an announcement, the more likely the plan has moved into 2027.
We will move this item to Confirmed only when dates appear on the official live page. Until then, treat any Japanese venue and date you see online as speculation.
Rumored: Reports Without Official Confirmation
Rumored: a UK tour in 2026. In August 2025, The Sun's Bizarre column quoted an unnamed source saying Paul had told his team he wanted to tour the UK again, alongside a claim that a new album was nearly done. The album part came true, which gives the report some credibility, but no UK dates have been announced and no official statement has backed the touring plan. His last UK shows were the Got Back dates at Manchester's Co-op Live (14 and 15 December) and London's O2 (18 and 19 December) in December 2024. Source: The Sun, reported by Music-News.com on 25 August 2025.
Unverified and best ignored: pages claiming a large 2026 world tour with dozens of dates across North America, Europe and Australia have circulated on low-quality news and ticket sites. None of these dates appears on the official live page, no venue has announced them, and no major music outlet has reported them. The same goes for social media posts announcing a "Got Back Tour 2026" at small venues, and for any claim of a joint McCartney and Ringo farewell tour. If you see these shared in fan groups, point people to the official page.
Recent History: The Got Back Years
For context, here is how McCartney's touring has looked recently, all confirmed on his official live listings. The Got Back tour opened in Spokane, Washington in April 2022 and has returned in several legs since, covering Australia, Mexico and South America, and Europe, where the 2024 run ended with two nights at the O2 in London on 18 and 19 December 2024. He also headlined the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in June 2022, a week after his 80th birthday.
In 2025 he played three surprise nights at the 575-capacity Bowery Ballroom in New York (11, 12 and 14 February), announced only hours before each show, and Paul McCartney Rocks Santa Barbara at the Santa Barbara Bowl on 26 September. The Got Back 2025 North American leg then ran from Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California on 29 September to two nights at the United Center in Chicago on 24 and 25 November, taking in first-ever McCartney concerts in Albuquerque and the Palm Springs area.
The pattern helps anyone trying to guess what comes next. Club shows are announced days or hours in advance, often through registration systems rather than open sales. Arena and stadium legs are announced months ahead with a presale window. A new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, went to number one in the UK in June 2026, and past albums have often been followed by live dates. That is a reason for hope, not a confirmation.
How We Track and How to Stay Ready
Before every update we check the official live page, Paul's official news and social channels, venue announcements and the major music press. Reports from outlets quoting named people on the record go under Announced. Anything based on unnamed sources goes under Rumored, clearly labelled, and we drop items that are shown to be false.
If you spot a date we have missed, check first whether it links back to the official live page or a venue box office. If it does, it will be on this page within a day of us seeing it. If it does not, it belongs in the Rumored section at best, and we would rather leave a doubtful item out than send fans chasing tickets for a show that does not exist.
When dates are announced, tickets go quickly. Our guide on how to get McCartney concert tickets explains how recent presales and registration systems worked and how to avoid resale scams. Our McCartney setlist guide shows what the Got Back shows have included, and our roundup of the best McCartney live albums covers the live recordings to hear while you wait.
